EmerGence client, Charlottetown, PEI-based Stepscan Technologies Inc. exhibited on the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA) Canadian Pavilion at the Inter-service/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), held in Orlando, Florida, November 27 to December 1, 2017.

StepScan also used the opportunity to announce their membership of ACADA.
With approximately 200 members, ACADA is a collaborative organization representing the interests of the aerospace, defence, marine and security industries in Atlantic Canada. For over a decade, they have promoted and facilitated the growth of their members by focusing on advocacy, collaboration, promotion, business development, supply chain engagement, SME development, innovation, and commercialization.

Stepscan is a federally incorporated technology company that manufactures the Stepscan® Gait Analysis flooring system – a patented pressure sensitive electronic floor tile system and footprint tracking software.
Stepscan® is designed to capture and analyze the walking patterns and balance of subjects as they move across the floor, measuring parameters such as underfoot pressure distribution, stride and speed of movement.
Sold as a medical device in North America, Australia, and China, the technology is used in the assessment and rehabilitation of patients suffering from mobility impairing conditions (i.e. Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, Concussions, Arthritis, etc.). However, the technology has exciting additional applications including in the fields of health research, simulated training for the military, sports training and biometric security.
