Emergence client, Chinova Bioworks, adds to their team

Chinova Bioworks, a Fredericton, New Brunswick-based client of the Emergence program, is in the business of making foods, beverage and cosmetics safer and healthier. In November we reported: “Emergence clients are growing – AND HIRING!

Happily, Chinova has since recruited two new team membersAlyssa Brewer, MSc, and Emma Matchett, MSc.

emmaAlyssa Brewer (left) has a Bachelors of Science in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick, and went on to obtain a Masters of Science in Chemistry from Queen’s University.

Alyssa’s background is in chemical/biological processes, and her experience in the pharmaceutical and personal care field is a major asset to Chinova. Alyssa joins Chinova Bioworks as a Process Development Researcher.

AlyssaEmma Matchett (right) completed her Bachelors of Science with honours at the University of New Brunswick, and went on to obtain a Masters of Science in Developmental Biology.

Emma brings to Chinova a great amount of expertise in microbiology and molecular biology, and will allow the company to expedite development of its key product. Emma joins Chinova Bioworks as a Microbiology Supervisor.

Chinova was supported with these hires through the Youth Employment Program (YEP) delivered by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).
